A place to grow. Together.

The proposed campus would bring St. James School beside Our Lady of the Valley Church in Coldstream, giving Catholic education a new home, with parish life close at hand.

A campus built in two phases.

The plan answers the needs of families today while preserving room for Catholic education to grow.

Phase one

Daycare, preschool and Kindergarten through Grade 8 would come together on one campus beside the parish.

Phase two

A future Grades 9–12 facility would create a path for students to continue their Catholic education through graduation.

A place to gather. A community to strengthen.

The vision for the campus includes a gathering place for the life that brings people together: time for prayer, a shared meal, a family celebration.

Gather in faith.
Spiritual retreats and gatherings that give people time to pray, reflect and grow together.
Celebrate together.
Banquets and wedding celebrations that bring families and friends around a shared table.
Build lasting connections.
Parish and community gatherings where neighbours meet and relationships grow across generations.

Built around the life of a school.

A new site offers the opportunity to plan learning spaces, places to gather and room to play as one campus.

It also offers a practical advantage: the existing school could continue operating while a new home is built. This was one of the reasons the planning committee favoured this direction when it compared three options in 2021.

Why this direction

School and parish. A shared life of faith.

Nearness to the church could strengthen the connection between learning, worship and the community that supports a child.
